Parmar was born on 20 March 1973 in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. She was diagnosed with poliomyelitis when she was three years old, and that same year she fell from a swing while playing, resulting in a broken collar bone and right leg. It took a long time for the injury to heal. His father was a state level badminton player and used to go to a local badminton club to practice. She also started going to the club with her father and developed an interest in the sport. He also started playing badminton with the neighboring children. A local coach Surendra Parekh noticed his talent in the game and encouraged him to play more seriously.

She won gold medals in women’s singles and doubles at the 2017 BWF Para-Badminton World Championships. She defeated Wanafatdi Kamatam of Thailand in the singles final. Along with Japan’s Akiko Sugino, she defeated China’s Cheng Hefang and Ma Huihui in the doubles final.

She has won gold medals in women’s singles SL3 at the 2014 and 2018 Asian Para Games. She also won a gold medal in the women’s singles SL3 category at the 2018 Thailand Para-Badminton International. He had earlier won a silver medal at the 2014 Asian Para Games and a bronze medal at the 2010 Asian Para Games. She won the gold medal in mixed doubles in the SL3-SU5 category along with Raj Kumar at the 2015 BWF Para-Badminton World Championships.


She is a three-time world champion and won gold and silver medals at the 2014 Asian Para Games in Incheon, South Korea. He played against Thailand’s Kamtam Vannafatdi and Panayacham Parmi to win the medal. She won two golds in women’s singles and doubles by defeating Thai player Wanafatdi Kamatam in the singles final and paired with Japan’s Akiko Sugino in doubles to beat the Chinese pair of Cheng Hefang and Ma Huihui at the Para Badminton World. Championship held in Ulsan, Korea in 2019.
