IPL Auction 2022: Auction date of IPL 2022 revealed, know on which day the auction will be held

From the next season of IPL, cricket fans will see ten teams playing instead of eight. These new teams can be auctioned on October 17. Whereas the last date for buying the tender has been fixed as October 5. A deadline of September 21 has been set for getting information related to the auction. The base price of the teams will be Rs 2000 crore and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) can earn between Rs 5000 to Rs 6000 crore from the auction.

However, this is not the first time that ten teams will play in a season of IPL. Earlier in 2011 also ten teams have played. Pune Warriors and Kochi Tuskers were the two new participating teams at that time. Kochi was banned in 2012. Nine teams took part in the next two seasons i.e. 2012 and 2013. In 2014 the league once again returned to an eight-team tournament.

Ahmedabad becoming an IPL franchise is almost certain. The biggest reason for this is the Narendra Modi Stadium, the world’s largest cricket stadium built here. This stadium has a seating capacity of 1 lakh 32 thousand spectators. Recently many international matches and some IPL matches were also played in this stadium. If the current season of IPL does not go ahead, then all the knockout matches including the final were to be played here. Earlier, Gujarat Lions has also been a part of the league in IPL 2016 and 2017.

Lucknow is also being considered at the forefront of the auction. It is being told that the Goenka Group, also known as RPSG Group, is looking to buy this franchise. The Ekana Stadium in Lucknow has witnessed a lot of matches in the recent past. This stadium is also known as Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Stadium. It has a seating capacity of about 50,000 spectators. In July 2019, the BCCI declared it the third home ground of the Afghanistan cricket team in India. Due to the Nawabi language of Lucknow and the convenience of the metro, its claim is also strong.

BCCI may also promote Indore as an IPL franchise. The Holkar Stadium in Indore can also become the home ground of the franchise. Many matches have also taken place in this stadium in the last few years. So far 1 Test and 4 ODIs have been played at Holkar Stadium. Indian team won all these matches. Indore is number 1 among the cleanest cities in India. Connectivity of Indore with other cities is also good.

Dharamshala, located in the beautiful plains of Himachal Pradesh, is also in the race to become a franchise. The biggest reason for this is that every year two to three matches of the league have been held at the Dharamsala Cricket Stadium located here. It has also been the home ground of the Punjab team for a few seasons. In such a situation, there is a great arrangement for the team’s stay and its management. Along with this, hotels and tourism will also benefit. Its connectivity with other cities is also good. In such a situation, businessmen can show interest in this franchise.

Pune is also one of the strong contenders for the new franchise. Even before this, Pune has been a franchise in the IPL. Pune was represented by Pune Warriors India and Rising Pune Supergiants. Pune Warriors was a part of the league from 2011 to 2013 and Rising Pune in the 2016 and 2017 seasons.

The Maharashtra Cricket Stadium in Pune could be the home ground of the team. Many international matches have also been held in Pune. A total of 2 Tests, 4 ODIs and 3 T20 Internationals have been played here so far. The series of 3 ODIs against India and England was also played on this ground.

Apart from this, Cuttack, Guwahati and Ranchi are also in the list of franchises.
