2 October Speech on Gandhi Jayanti : – Regards, Honorable Teachers Teacher’s and my dear classmates, as you know thatwe are all gathered here to celebrate the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi on 02 October. Let me tell you that Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated not only in our country but all over the world as International Day of Non- Violence. Because Gandhiji is considered asa path-breaker ofnon – violence throughout his life.
The full name of Mahatma is Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi . But we also know Gandhiji by other names like Bapu and Father of the Nation and also by the name of Mahatma Gandhi . He was born on 2 October 1869 in the small village of Porbandar in Gujarat . Mahatma Gandhi’s father’s name was Karamchand Gandhi , and mother’s name was Putlibai, a religious woman. Mahatma Gandhi’s Samadhi Sthal at Raj Ghat , New Delhi on 2nd OctoberBut by the Prime Minister and President of India, prayers, flowers, candles are offered to his idol. Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated in all the states and union territories of India to remember Gandhiji for his great works.
Mahatma Gandhi always looked and respected all religions and communities with one eye. Holy and religious books are read on the day of 2nd October. Especially Gandhiji’s favorite hymn “Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram”. Prayer meetings are held in the states and capitals of the country. This day has been declared as a national holiday by the Government of India. On this day all government and semi-government schools, colleges, offices etc. remain completely closed.
Mahatma Gandhi has been given the title of a great person. Mahatma Gandhi struggled a lot to get India’s independence from British rule. He was not only the pioneer of the unique method of non-violence to achieve freedom for India against the British rule, but he proved to the world that freedom can also be achieved peacefully by following the path of non-violence. Mahatma Gandhi is and will be remembered even today as a symbol of peace and truth among us.

Honorable teachers and my dear friends, today we will talk about a great person who taught us to live by following non-violence. The name of that great person is Mahatma Gandhi whose death date is celebrated on 02 October. I want to tell you that Mahatma Gandhi was born on October 2, 1896 in the house of Karamchand Gandhi and his wife Putlibai in a village called Porbandar in Gujarat. was | After Mahatma Gandhi completed his primary and secondary education , Gandhiji went to England in 1888 to study law . After staying in England for four years, he returned to India after passing a law degree in 1891.
After returning from England , Gandhiji went to South Africa in search of work . got the opportunity to work there. There was a huge demand for Indian lawyers in South Africa. Racism was prevalent in South Africa in those days. Gandhiji also fell victim to this casteism. When Gandhiji was traveling with a first class ticket, he was thrown out of the moving train. Then Gandhiji was very upset. Since then he started opposing the social evil of casteism .
Gandhiji came back to India in 1915. After coming back, Gandhiji met Gopal Krishna Gokhale and talked about the movements of the Indian freedom struggle and himself joined the Indian National Congress and raised his voice against British rule in India. Gandhiji started the non-cooperation moment in 1920. In which it was said that no Indian should cooperate in any work of the British. In 1930, Gandhiji 400 kilometers long Dandi march made | Gandhiji broke the British law against salt production. In 1942, Gandhiji launched the ” Quit India Movement “. By which this message was given that we Britishers are capable of governing the country. In view of all these things, British East IndiaThe company’s legs began to pull back. Finally India became independent on 15 August 1947 .
